ASUS release new Tablets for CES

ASUS release new Tablets for CES

It time for CES, ASUS have released four brand new tablet computers, designed for home and work use. The operating systems available for the tablets are Microsoft Windows 7 and Google Android. The ASUS tablet range will suit anyone, whatever they do on their computers. Oh and, they work with Flash… Take that iPad.

Asus Eee Pad Slider

The Eee Pad Slider features a 10.1″ IPS touch-screen for “finger friendly use”, however there is no indication whether or not this is a resistive or capacitive touchscreen, I hope for the latter. It is powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 2, the dual-core mobile processor and a GeForce GPU for “never seen before” graphics on a mobile device.

The Eee Pad also features a slide out QWERTY keyboard for convenient typing and a front 1.2 Megapixel camera and a rear 5 Megapixel camera. It has an optional 3G card in it which will allow for mobile computing with any carrier (there is no word from Australian carriers who will be using the device).

Asus Eee Pad Transformer

The Eee Pad Transformer is nearly the same as the Eee Pad Slider but with a few differences. It’s in two pieces, you have the screen and the detachable QWERTY keyboard and track pad. So ultimately you could turn this into a fully functional laptop computer with Google Android or Windows 7. The attachable keyboard also includes a secondary battery which will provide a total of 18 hours of productivity on the Eee Pad.

It also includes a mini-HDMI port for showing off your videos or hooking the Eee Pad to an alternate display for work at home.

Asus Eee Pad MeMO

There hasn’t been much information released on this one, however, it’s a dam small tablet computer – almost a mobile phone. It has a 7.1″ capacitive touch screen (with included stylus). There is no indication on the processor, space or whether or not it has cameras. I’m sure this information will be released soon.

The MeMO also includes a micro-HDMI port for showing off your videos or hooking the MeMo into an alternate display.

It has support for 1080p video.

Asus Eee Slate

Now this is a tablet, it features an Intel Core i5 processor, 12.1″ LED back-lit display which is a capacitive touch screen, 32GB or 64GB of SSD storage and up to 4GB of DDR3 ram. All models have 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, a 2-megapixel camera, plus two USB 2.0 ports that provide full support for a wide range of standard PC peripherals, along with a mini-HDMI port that is ideal for connecting to external displays. It will have Windows 7 installed.

ASUS have announced that the Eee Slate is one of eight products which have been selected for the CES 2011 Innovations Award.
