With a 7-inch 720p IPS display, a 5-megapixel rear camera, and SonicMaster audio technology; ASUS has announced at its Computex press conference its new MeMO Pad. Featuring a 7-inch 720p IPS display, a quad-core processor and up to 16GB of storage, the MeMO Pad is its response to the Kindle Fire, the Nexus 7 and – of course – the iPad mini.

Touted to be even thinner than the iPad mini by its Chairman Jonney Shih, the MeMO Pad is only 10.8mm thin and weighs 302g. It also includes a 5-megapixel rear camera, and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera. Battery life is said to last up to 10 hours with 720p video playback. However, unlike the iPad mini, the MeMO Pad does not feature any mobile data support

Pricing for the tablet starts at US$129 for 8GB, and US$149 for 16GB. It will start shipping in July 2013.

Also announced was the MeMO Pad FHD10 – featuring a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor and a 10.1-inch full HD IPS display. Other hardware specs include a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera, GPS support, and will come with 16GB or 32GB of storage (with an expandable microSD card slot, and 5GB of lifetime cloud storage on ASUS’ WebStorage).

Pricing has not been revealed for the MeMO Pad FHD10.
