Announced back at CES, the long awaited update to the AR.Drone – the AR.Drone 2.0 is heading to Australia. Now featuring a 720p HD camera, you can now finally use this with your Android-powered tablet or phone thanks to the updated AR.FreeFlight 2.0.
If you have used the predecessor, you would know that the movements are done via virtual thumbsticks – and you literally move the phone or tablet forwards or backwards to make it move in that direction. AR.Drone 2.0 now lets you do stunts with a new ‘Flip’ feature.
The FreeFlight 2.0 app will also let you record and take screenshots of your flights, and yyou’ll soon be able to share flight data and watch other people’s videos with an upcoming app called the AR.Drone Academy.
It’s coming soon in June with a recommended retail price of AU$349. Gallery below.
