Apple rolls out 90 second previews on iTunes to international markets

You can now be safely assured that you have bought the right track as Apple has now rolled out their 90 seconds preview on iTunes today for international markets – something that the Americans had since last year.

As per Apple’s plan, songs that are longer than 2 minutes and 30 seconds will be affected by the switch. We can safely confirm that all of the library in iTunes that conform to its rules now have the 90 second preview.

The move also does not affect anything else outside of audio music. Videos, as expected, still are 30 seconds – while podcasts are available at length since they are hosted outside of the iTunes servers.

The delay is due to negotiations with record labels in order to be able to extend the preview time. The 90 seconds preview has been confirmed to be available in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and most of Europe.
