Apple: Mac OS X Lion launching tomorrow

Mac fanboys can now squeel. Apple has finally set a release date for the new version of Mac OS X, dubbed “Lion” at the company’s earnings meeting, after the company promised that the OS would be released sometime this month.

“We will be launching Lion tomorrow,” Peter Oppenheimer, chief financial officer for Apple, said at the meeting, according to ComputerWorld.

It will be sold only on the App Store for AU$31.99. The OS requires an Intel Core 2 Duo processor or above, 2GB of RAM and the current version – Snow Leopard.
